ZunePass rocks. I am a huge fan of that. I even forget to use my 10 credits a month and I don't care. Its an awesome way to discover music.

We use Netflix via the Xbox 360 (no cable or satellite anymore) and if it is on the phone too that is enough for me.

My wife already told me that we'll be saving to buy the phones the day they are out.

So my wall paper is a picture from my Daughter's bday party. She changed to wanting a Star Wars party so I set out some of our Lego sets. I will try to include those in future posts :)

What about multitasking too? No mention of that.

I've been really impressed with the Zune software. It is very attractive. I can't say I'm ready to drop my iPhone for a WP7 just yet, but when my contract ends it will be a tough decision.

Zune Pass might be reason enough for me. All the music I want in my HTPC, work PC, phone and XBox? That's pretty awesome. If they only had Zune Pass for TV shows I would do it in a heart beat.

By the way, I think we share the same taste in wallpaper http://www.flickr.com/search/?s=int&w=all&q=lego+star+wars&m=text

Name aside, I was giddy when I saw the tooling at the summit. MS did exactly what most people figured they would.

The marketplace looks pretty straight-forward. There is a fee for you to submit "X" amount of apps. When I heard about it, the team said it wouldn't be huge, but they need a barrier to keep anyone from writing junk and tying up their QA process.

You will have to get apps via Marketplace. This stuff comes from the Xbox/Zune team and they have always wanted to control the experience to ensure a consistent one. It surprises me they have so many manufacturers for the device, but I think that will be a good thing.

The ones I saw look pretty responsive (and this was a month ago). I really, really like the Zune HD interface and was glad to see it was the pick for the WP7.

The dev experience so far is fun. Very much like the Zune/Xbox experience via XNA, only it's Silverlight for crying out loud!

I've done some iPhone development and the Windows Phone 7 Series (seriously, that's the best name they could come up with) looks a lot simpler than the iPhone. The tooling around building the UI looks....scratch that....IS great. I've used Expression Blend already, so I know the tools. Visual Studio is the best IDE I've ever used. Objective-C is not as high level of a language as C#. There are tons of reasons why WP7S should take off.

There are a few things I am still waiting on to make up my mind:
- Where is the spell checking? I haven't seen that at all.
- How tough is it to get apps in the marketplace?
- Do I have to get apps via the marketplace?
- How does it feel in your hands? The Palm Pre lost all its hype in my eyes when I held it and saw how un-responsive it was.
