Day of .NET

St. Louis Day of .NET 2011!

The annual St. Louis Day of .NET conference is almost here!  Hard to believe it’s already been a year since our last conference (and since I last posted anything here…) and we’ve been working to bring another great event to the .NET community.

For the third consecutive year I will be presenting the WCF JumpStart.  Join me for an early morning session to get you started in WCF 4.  After that I will be roaming the halls helping to keep the conference running smoothly and probably causing a few disruptions here and there Smile

Presenting on OData and WCF 4 at St Louis Day of .NET

If you haven’t registered, you should join the 600+ people who have registered for the 2010 St Louis Day of .NET, making this our biggest year yet!

I will have two presentations that are scheduled for both days of the conference.  Kicking off the morning with the JumpStart series, I will be delivering the WCF 4 JumpStart.  In this session we’ll cover the basics of WCF 4: What’s new/changed from 3.5, REST Support, the Routing Service and Deployment to IIS on multiple bindings (BasicHttp, Rest, and Net.Tcp).

The OData talk will be the same one I have delivered at Iowa Code Camp and the St Louis .NET Users Group.  If you haven’t seen the session covers the basics of OData, how to query OData sources, and finally we’ll build an OData service following the Hanselman Stackoverflow Challenge.

Beyond my small contributions there are over a 100 great sessions to look for.  Check out the agenda, our speakers, and try out the schedule builder to build a personalized schedule!

St. Louis Day of .NET 2009 – Success!

8 months ago I blogged “Thanks for the Day of Dot Net” after the first, community organized .NET day conference in St. Louis.  And in just 8 months a core team that grew from DODN 2008 raised the bar, expanded to two days, and held DODN 2009 at the Ameristar Hotel & Casino in St. Charles, MO.

Total count of attendees, speakers, organizers, and volunteers: 500!

Over two days, nearly 60 technical sessions were delivered by industry experts, community experts, MVPs; all people who have a passion for learning, growing, and sharing that with others.  Sessions covered core .NET technologies and open source projects, free tools to improve your development cycle and strategies to use them.  To see the impact of the sessions, feedback, and carry on the conversation, just hit “the Twitter” for hashtag: #stldodn.

To the core team of organizers I raise my glass – we worked hard, it wasn’t perfect, and in the end we held the biggest STL DODN yet.  Here’s to a great 2009 and looking forward to what is coming in 2010!
